Build a database and have a flood of cashed-up customers on-demand
A real-world example
I get regular emails from a yoga teaching school. I signed up to their database to receive info on when their training courses are. Every 2 months or so, I get an email outlining the next dates, prices, locations, and so on.
Regular contact can wear down resistance and build trust After reading the first one, I literally had no intention of buying their training course. But the regular contact keeps building their reputation... ...reminding me that they are there, and how happy their students are who have now finished their courses... ...and every time I read another one of their messages, I get closer to purchasing it - I can feel my mind going "I might as well - there's nobody else around..."
My own situation changes month by month. Sometimes I have some spare money, other times I'm totally strapped bare. They don't know whether I've got spare money or not at any given time. But as long as they keep getting in contact with me, there will come a time when the money is spare, I've got the time spare, and I finally want to do one of their courses.
If they keep it up, those silly little 5-minute emails they send me once every 2 months will make about $3,500 out of me in one hit.
