Real-life examples of fast, cost-effective advertising to build your database

Here are 2 stories about how I persuaded other businesses to help me out building my database.

They took very little time or energy to do.

But the pay-off was awesome and excellent.

Have a read of each one, and see if you can think of ways to apply the same steps in your own business.

How I got the newspapers to build my database for me, at no cost...

For my health seminars, I wrote up a emotionally-driven, slightly exaggerated and over-the-top article about what my seminars would teach people about how to be enormously healthy, and how the knowledge would slow down the ageing process, etc etc.

I faxed it off to the local newspapers.

A day or two later, I get a call from the major newspaper - they want to run an article on me and my seminar, and take a photo.

I am quietly ecstatic on the other end of the phone, but just say "Awww yeah, when did you want to do that?"

The guy says, "Can we come down this afternoon?"

So we hook up in the local park gardens, and I do some tai chi to demonstrate some aspects of what I teach in the seminar about how to be healthy.

The photographer snaps some shots.

The guy asks some questions about me and my journey towards being healthy.

At the end of the whole interview, I ask them if they would mind including my phone number at the end of the article, just in case people want to get in touch with me about the seminar.

The guy was reluctant, but smiled... knowing that I wanted free marketing, but not saying it.

And he says... "Awww... ummm... yeah, ok."

Then off they go.

A week later, the article appears in the newspaper - a massive A3 size article, nearly full-page.

Click here to check it out.

My phone number, seminar dates and location were printed at the bottom of the article.

I diverted the phone to an answering machine, where I recorded myself saying...

"Hi, this is Unity.

If you are calling about the seminar, please leave your name and mailing address after the beep, and I will send you a full information pack.

Please clearly spell any difficult names for me, and don't forget to include your postcode!

Thankyou!"

Beep.

And people would leave their details.

I simply checked my messages once a day, and typed in their details into my database.

I mailed them the info pack, people booked into the seminar, and I made heaps of money.

Plus I had my database built, almost hands-free.

How to get free sponsorship worth $1000s to build your database

Click here for the course on how I got over $6400 worth of free sponsorship in the space of 1 hour - all I had to do was ask...

...and create a very good win-win strategic relationship for the sponsor to take advantage of.

Then in 2 days, I built a database of over 2000 people who indicated they were hungry to hear about what my business offered on a regular basis.
