I have used quotes from this article and newspaper in subsequent advertising so many times.

This was the major newspaper for the region, and they had endorsed my seminars and my professionalism.

So in my advertising after that article, I quoted the positive things they said about me and my services, etc etc.

It has made a major difference to a lot of my subsequent promotional efforts.

Follow-up

That article basically took my business from being nothing and no-one, to being someone reputable and credible.

They really boosted my reputation in a way that no one else could have in that city.

And they didn't have to give me such a big write-up and powerful large photo.

They could have made a crappy little 6 line article if they wanted to.

I was very grateful to the reporter guy and his photographer.

So I sent a card to both of them saying thankyou.

And I also sent a letter to their manager, saying how grateful I was for their work, and that the two of them had been absolutely excellent during their interview with me, and that I was genuinely impressed with their work and with the two of them in person.

I think I ended up talking to the reporter a week or so later, and he said his manager had been amazed when he read my letter, and had passed it on to the reporter and photographer girl...

...along with hearty praise for doing a fine job.

The reporter was really happy with me for doing that for them - without being asked, because it helped him out in his job and career.

Win-win for everyone.
