What you get paid
I offer a 20% commission in general. During certain promotions I offer a 33% commission. Typically, clients spend $3,000 on my web design package. So you would get paid $600 per sale for normal referrals, and $1,000 for sales made during certain promotions. I will let you know about these promotions well before they start so you can be prepared. For example, my next promotion is starting in early July, 2008.
Conversion rate
During my last promotion (May 2008) to my own database, my conversion rate was 1 sale for each 150 people on my database. This worked out to: $20 profit per email address on my list. (Note: your actual conversion rate will depend on your own target market, your relationship with your list, and other factors.) The main reason for the high conversion rate of an expensive product was offering a payment plan, and using a video education sales process.
